I tell them it's a lot like Southern California...without the ocean...and with the reality that the cute gal in the hip little tennis outfit who shops at the neighborhood grocery could actually be a guy. But, hey, it keeps life interesting when you run into Rita Rudner at the hair salon...or Carrottop in the meat section... Talk about heaven for a storyteller!debcoontshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05668750023683858237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28839948.post-61097295544714256602010-08-12T19:11:40.201-06:002010-08-12T19:11:40.201-06:00What a fun interview. There were only a couple, I've been driving from Vegas to Colorado Springs and you know how testy the cops get when you text and drive:) thanks for the nice comments. It truly has been a lucky year for me. To answer how my agent went from a contact to a dreamweaver--it was simple a case of the right person in the right place, etc. After two agent rejections--one I should share with the world--I sent the manuscript to my now agent hoping for some reassurance. She sold it in twelve hours. THAT's my kind of reassurance!debcoontshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05668750023683858237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28839948.post-51990841589094748442010-08-12T13:04:50.396-06:002010-08-12T13:04:50.396-06:00Reading different authors' processes is so int...Reading different authors' processes is so interesting. I think this is excellent advice all around--from accruing words to persevering no matter what. I'd like to hear how your agent went from contact to dream maker!

PS: I loved Christopher Plummer as the Captain, too :)jenny milchmanhttp://jennymilchman.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28839948.post-82529107288861690672010-08-12T11:41:03.389-06:002010-08-12T11:41:03.389-06:00Deborah, I enjoyed meeting Lucky and the Vegas gan...Deborah, I enjoyed meeting Lucky and the Vegas gang. It got me in the mood for our upcoming trip to Tunica, Mississippi! In fact, I recommended it as summer reading in "Meritorious Mysteries."Msmstryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16482398424851486681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28839948.post-1432627970252997422010-08-12T09:38:54.370-06:002010-08-12T09:38:54.370-06:00Sounds like a good read. After I wrote the entire chapter I found it disgusting and deleted it. I don't think he ever forgave me.
Nancy
N. R.
